Product Recall / Contamination

Product Recall costs are a component of our Gold Medal Liability Insurance package but such cover is of limited application and can not be extended to fully meet the needs of the wine industry.

 

A full Wine Contamination & Product Recall policy is specialist insurance and the industry leader is Chartis, a Division of American International Group.

 

A full Product Recall insurance is predicated on the product being injurious to health or has been contaminated by a list of specified external substances encountered in wine production.

 

Our policies are wide ranging and include:-

  • Accidental Contamination – including full loss of income to the business

  • Malicious Product Tampering

  • Product Extortion

  • Crisis Management Consultant Services

  • Product Recall Costs Worldwide

 

Accidental Contamination of the wine itself is covered to a limit of $100,000 under The Gold Medal Material Damage policy.  The Wine Contamination policy supplements this to higher limits from $250,000 to $1,000,000.
