NZ Wine Exporters Forum 2011

26 July 2011

Garry Mooney addresses the NZ Wine Exporters Forum

Gold Medal Vintage Insurance at the 2011 NZ Wine Exporters Forum

July saw the 2011 NZ Wine Exporters Forum being held in Blenheim, which for the first time ever was a sold out event.

Sponsored by Gold Medal Vintage Insurance, the event was held over 3 days and involved a series of speakers, workshops, networking and social functions in and around the area.

The nature of the event meant that many of our clients were in attendance for us to catch up with, both formally and socially,  as well as speaking to the rest of the NZ Winegrowers membership on the issues they face both generally and in relation to the insurance industry.

Gold Medal Vintage were in attendance throughout the event, however we were specifically there to sponsor and introduce the Dynamics of the US Market session on the second day. Naturally, from an insurance perspective, exporting to the US has its own set of issues for wine exporters and because of this we took a particular interest.

Garry Mooney introduced the session and gave a brief talk about Gold Medal Vintage Insurance and the benefits of our products and services to the NZ Winegrowers membership before handing over to the speakers and market managers to discuss the US market in more detail.

A thoroughly enjoyable few days that allowed us to view the industry ‘from within’, meet with existing clients and introduce ourselves to new ones – and of course have the odd glass of wine!

Special mention must go to the organisers of the event at NZ Winegrowers for providing everyone with a top class venue, speakers, workshops and social events that ran like clockwork.
